Call to Order
Speaker
Robert C. Van Schoyck called the meeting to order at 7:39 PM in
the GSA Room of the Blackmore Library.

Reading & Approval of Minutes
The minutes were approved with no changes

Public Comment

Provost Ney spoke about the importance of Student Government and
her willingness to work with any student on issues that concern
the campus

CUSATA gave a talk about their National Art Therapy Conference

Stephanie Chandler stated that the students would start a referendum
if President Freeman is removed from office

Committee Reports
Academic
Affairs Committee –Sen. Chris Burton, Chair
The Committee met with 5 of 6 Senators present and no Secretary
-
Senator Harmon is continuing her work with Don Miller on College
Bowl. The Campus tournament will be held at the end of January
-
Senator Burton is continuing to find suitable locations for
the recently purchased classroom maps. Two have already been
placed

Druckenmiller is working on a plan with IT to replace all of
the computers in the satellite lab for Saylor-Ackerman and use
the replaced computers to increase the size of labs in SS and
Schaaf
- Senator
Acree is working on a solution to solve the lack of left-handed
desks on campus
Multicultural
Affairs Committee –Sen. Kris Wong, Chair
The Committee met with 6 of 6 Senators present and no Secretary

The Committee discussed the goals raised at the Senate retreat
-
The Committee is planning on providing input to the Master Plan
in favor of increased handicap accessibility
- The
Committee is working on setting up World Week and the Flag Ceremony
- The
Committee is looking at working with AAA and UP to celebrate
the Chinese New Year in February
Student
Interests Committee –Sen. Eric Bowman, Chair
The Committee met with 6 of 6 Senators present and no Secretary

The Committee is working with Harvey Pugh on the Recycling Program
- The
Committee is looking at an adopt-a-park Program
- The
third week in January is going to be Environmental Week
- The
Committee is finishing the Campus Ministries Survey
Student
Life Committee –Sen. Shane Gunnoe, Chair
The Committee met with 8 of 9 Senators present and no Secretary

The Committee discussed the logistics of the planned outdoor
basketball court
- The
Organization Room Task Force has selected Sigma Alpha Iota for
the new organization room, and has allowed Ebony Brotherhood
Association to move to a larger location
Finance,
Planning and Development Committee –Sen. Daniel Meyers,
Chair
The Committee met twice, both meetings with 3 of 3 Senators present
and no Secretary
- The
Committee helped fund Thanksgiving events
- The
Committee has submitted four bills with accompanying information
for the Senate’s consideration
- The
Committee is reviewing the Student Handbook
- The
Committee is looking into a possible resolution for President
Fredrickson and Vice President Aungst
Judiciary
Committee – Sen. Andrew Acree, Chair
The Committee reviewed impeachment charges that were submitted
to them
The Committee has impeached President Andrea Freeman and advocates
that the Senate commence with her removal
Subcommittee Reports were waived in the interest of time

New Business
Impeachment
Senator Acree, chair of the Judiciary Committee, presents the
impeachment case to the Senate, detailing four charges:
Charge #1: That President Andrea Freeman failed
to prepare a budget, therefore failing in one of her constitutional
duties as President.
Charge #2: That President Andrea Freeman failed
to make form committees she was constitutionally required to
commission
Charge #3: That President Andrea Freeman failed
to hold bi-monthly Cabinet meetings, therefore failing in one
of her constitutional duties as President
Charge #4: That President Andrea Freeman failed
to execute proper Public Relations
The
Floor is opened to debate

- The
motion is seconded by Senator Bowman
- With
a vote of 22-6, debate is closed
After the tabulation of the secret ballots, the removal of President
Freeman goes forth with 24 YES, 3 NO and 1 ABSTENTION
Therefore, President Andrea Freeman is removed from office
