Social Organizations
Amnesty International
Amnesty
is a human rights organization working for the release of prisoners
of conscience, fair, and prompt trials for all political prisoners
and to end to all torture and execution. Capital's chapter of Amnesty
works for these causes through campus education and responding with
urgent action letters.
College Democrats
The
Democratic Party fights for many issues important to us, including
student loans, financial aid, and better education for everyone.
The Democratic Party also advocates other important issues, such
as the environment, health care, consistent economic growth, and
various social issues.
College Republicans
College
Republicans offers campaign experience, possible paid internships,
participation in local and national Republican events, Republican
speakers, social events, and an opportunity to voice your political
opinions and be heard.
Fuller Society
Fuller
Society's goal is to meet the needs of Social Science and other
students for extracurricular, experiential, and professional development
through an understanding of social issues, and the structure and
functions of American society.
Greek Council
The
purpose of Greek Council is to establish and maintain communication,
cooperation, representation and good will among the Capital University
fraternities and sororities, administration, faculty, staff and
students. Greek Council is responsible for coordinating and promoting
activities involving Greek letter organizations.
National Organization
for Women
NOW
is an organization fighting for Feminism, Gay and Lesbian rights,
reproductive rights, gender equality, and all other women's issues.
NOW is a group for both men and women who support liberal ideas
and equality between genders.
Student Environment
Action Coalition
SEAC
participate in Environmental Studies & Awareness Programs, Clean
Up Outings & Hiking Trips and Earth Week Activities.
Student Government
Capital
University's Student Government is progressive, active, and continually
striving to improve student life on campus. In addition to the executive
board consisting of the President and Vice-President, SG’s
Student Senate is comprised of five committees: academic affairs,
student life, student interests, multicultural affairs, and finance.
