Honor Societies

Alpha Chi

Established in 1922, Alpha Chi is a national coeducational college honor society. Its purpose is to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students and to honor those who achieve such distinction. At Capital University, the Ohio Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Chi inducts new members at a ceremony in the early spring.

Alpha Psi Omega

Alpha Psi Omega is a National Theatre Honorary Society. Membership is awarded to those who have made an outstanding contribution to the theatre on campus. The Chapter at Capital University is the Alpha Beta Iota Chapter. New members are elected by the current membership.

Beta Beta Beta

Beta Beta Beta is the National Honor Society in Biology. The purpose of Beta Beta Beta Biological Society is to function as an honor and professional society for students of the biological sciences. Its activities are designed to stimulate interest, scholarly attainment, and investigation in the biological sciences.

Order of Omega

The Order of the Omega is a National Greek Leadership Society that was founded in 1959 at the University of Miami. The Purpose of Omega is to recognize those fraternity men and women who have attained a high standard of leadership in interfraternity activities and to encourage them to continue along this line.

Phi Beta Delta

Phi Beta Delta is dedicated to recognizing scholarly achievement in international education, addressing the needs on campus for recognition and visibility of international experiences, and serving as a vehicle for the development of academic-based international programming.

Phi Sigma Iota

Phi Sigma Iota is the International Foreign Language Honor Society. The Beta Theta chapter at Capital University was the 188th chapter to be chartered.

Psi Chi

Psi Chi is the National Honor Society of Psychology. Psi Chi was founded in 1929 for the purpose of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology.

Pi Sigma Alpha

Pi Sigma Alpha was founded in 1920 at the University of Texas for the purpose of bringing together students and faculty interested in the study of government and politics.

Sigma Theta Tau

Sigma Theta Tau is the International Honor Society of Nursing. The purpose of the society is to recognize superior achievement in nursing, recognize the development of leadership qualities, promote high professional standards, encourage creative work, and to share research and clinical practice.

Tau Pi Phi Business Fraternity

Tau Pi Phi is a Business Honor Society that was founded in 1931. Capital is the Beta Chapter.
