American Chemical
Society Student Affiliate
This
departmental organization is for all students who have a genuine
interest in the advancement of the chemical sciences. The chapter
coordinates such functions as visiting medical and graduate schools;
arranging for experts and professors in the discipline of chemistry
to provide seminars to interested students; and participating in
local schools to promote an enthusiasm for chemistry.
Earn
up to $50,000 on scholarships. In Army R.O.T.C. , you will learn
about today’s army and earn the chance to become a U.S. Army
Officer.
Capital Collegiate
Kodaly Educators
This
organization promotes Kodaly-based music educational philosophy,
structure, and application. CCKE sponsors clinics and workshops
to increase the number of educators knowledgeable in Kodaly techniques,
and to encourage an exchange of ideas and materials helpful in strengthening
music
programs in Central Ohio.
C. U. American
Student Dental Association
This
organization provides educational and social opportunities for students
interested in the dental profession. Speakers, Field Trips, and
internship opportunities are also featured with the Student Dental
Association.
C. U. Education
Society
CUES
helps, supports and offers activities to assist you in the field
of education. CUES unifies and brings together education majors
and sponsors preparation programs for tests such as the National
Teachers Exam (NTE). CUES also assist members in the job search
process and provides lectures by current school principals and educators.

U. Student Art Therapy Association
Capital
University Student Art Therapy Association (C.U.S.A.T.A.) gives
students a better understanding and a realistic overview of art
therapy. This organization creates a central core of knowledge in
the art field, uniting those with an interest in art therapy.

Nurses Association
CUSNA
connects you with a group of other motivated nursing students who
can offer advice, lend support and give you some tips on how to
make the most of your experience within Capital's School of Nursing.
Circus
Maximus – A Philosophical Society
The
goal of Circus Maximus is to offer students of philosophy, and those
interested in philosophy, a forum to discuss philosophy outside
a classroom environment. The organization also allows students of
philosophy to offer new ideas and stances on philosophical ideas.
Debate Team
Debate
is a national level "Division I" intercollegiate team
activity at Capital University. Membership is open to all undergraduate
students regardless of prior debate experience. The competition
travel schedule is organized around a nationally-selected topic
and typically begins in late September and extends through early
April, including as many as 14 tournaments per year. In addition
to extensive travel for intercollegiate competition, the team also
supports multiple debate topics through public debates on campus,
and through outreach events with local schools and community groups.
Effusion Art
Club
This
non-exclusive art club will help enhance your level of art appreciation
and education. During the school year we will have guest speakers,
visit artist’s studios, participate in clinics and critiques,
and attend gallery openings. Effusion works with all majors in the
quest to promote art in all its forms on campus and within the community.
Institute of
Management Accountants
The
Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) promotes interest in accountancy
and business through field trips to manufacturing plants, accounting
firms, and other businesses. Members sponsor programs such as speakers
in accounting and business-related fields, social activities, and
panel discussions with members of the accounting field.
Life Sciences
Organization
The
Life Sciences Organization (LSO) offers tutoring, guest lecturers,
graduate/professional school speakers, many community service and
environmental projects, and a spring biology department picnic.
All biology majors and minors are encouraged to join the group.
Mathematics
Association of America
MAA
offers the chance to visit exciting places such as Perkins Observatory,
the Center of Mapping, and the Super-computer Center. The opportunity
to attend local and national mathematics conferences, talk to mathematicians
and computer scientists is also available. MAA is not just for math
majors!
Ohio Collegiate
Music Educators Association
OCMEA’s
major emphasis is improving music education in schools. A yearly
spring activity is the Ohio Music Educators Association conference.
Monthly meetings are held to discuss topics of concern to musicians.
Pre-Law Society
The
Pre-Law Society assembles students interested in the profession
of law and wishing to learn more about the American justice system.
This organization promotes the principles, ideals, and precepts
of law as well as the principles of liberty and equal justice under
law for all citizens.
Public Relations
Student Society of America
The
Public Relations Student Society of America cultivates a favorable
and mutually advantageous relationship between students and professional
public relations practitioners. It aims to foster students’
understanding of current theories and procedures, and instills in
them a professional attitude.
PRSSA
provides an opportunity to interact with public relations professionals
and allows student to understand how classroom theories are applied
in real world situations. Students will also have an opportunity
to begin building a portfolio.
Speech Team
As
a speech team member, you will interpret, perform, and deliver original
and published material.
Student Ambassadors
Association
The
Student Ambassador Association is a volunteer organization sponsored
by the Admission Office. Student ambassadors assist in recruiting
and promoting Capital to prospective students. Ambassadors are responsible
for helping with on-campus recruitment events, giving tours, taking
prospective students to lunch, and hosting students overnight.
Student Health
Advocacy Coalition
Members
of SHAC are interested and work to improve the health of Capital
University students. SHAC works with Student Government and the
Health Center to advocate for student health issues on campus. The
organization organizes at least two campus-wide events each year,
and members participate in state and national campus health association
meetings.
Anyone
interested in campus health, especially students that are planning
to enter a health-related occupation, are encouraged to become members
of SHAC.
Student Social
Work Organization
The
Student Social Work Association provides an opportunity for Social
Work majors to come together to move social work education beyond
the classroom. Guest Speakers, Professional Development nights,
and on-site visits are part of the meetings of the Social Work Association.
Members learn about the profession, and begin to identify with the
values of the profession, as well as get to network with Social
Work professionals.

Muse
is an organization designed for women in music. The organization
assists in further developing music at Capital University and in
the community. It also gives inspiration and encouragement to members. |
