What we do
The
Public Relations and Marketing Office provides on-campus services
for all aspects of print publication, media
relations and marketing
and advertising. We also provide assistance with Web
publication.
Print Services
Here are just a few of the publications we produce for the campus
community:
We offer specialized services, including:
- Editing
- Graphic design
- Layout
- Photography
- Proofreading
- Writing
We
can manage all of your print projects with local printers.
Media
Services
We
coordinate all media contacts for the university, including
news releases to:
- Academic and professional journals
- Magazines
- Newspapers
- Radio
- Television
We are responsible for screening media calls and arranging for
print and on-air interviews with university faculty, staff and
students.
Please let us know if you have an area of specialization, expertise
or interest and are willing to appear on air or otherwise to talk
to reporters.
Marketing
and Advertising
We manage the university's overall marketing efforts, and we would
be happy to help your school, division, department or organization
with your marketing needs, including:
- Coordinating your advertising efforts with the university's strategic marketing plan
- Helping you develop advertising ideas
- Writing ad copy and designing graphics for print
- Securing ad placements and/or negotiating advertising contracts
- Promotional items (banners, giveaways, etc)

Electronic Publications
We maintain the university's top-level Web pages on the www.capital.edu
Web site, including:
We are happy to coordinate the online goals of your school, division,
department or organization by managing the following services:
- Graphic design
- Writing for the Web or e-mail
- Proofreading
- Web page design
- Web page development
We
work closely with the New Media staff and IT
department to ensure that all of your online needs are met.
New
Media and Public Relations and Marketing have published PowerPoint
guidelines and templates.
Capital's faculty and staff are encouraged to use these for all
presentations created on behalf of the university.
New Media and Public Relations and Marketing have published policies for Capital's Web site. These policies have been approved by the president's cabinet. |
