Overhead Projector Relamping Guide

The call comes in. Somewhere on campus, an overhead projector has just died. It is your problem to quickly visit the classroom and replace the dead lamp with a new one. The problem is, you have no idea what kind of overhead you are about to encounter, nor what kind of lamp you need.

You still need to carry the lamp kit, just in case the machine in the room has been switched. But the information here will tell you what machine should be in any campus classroom.

Of course, upon arrival in the room, you should check the overhead projector and make sure it really has a burned out lamp. Occasionally, we get more than one call for a single problem (often including a late call after the problem has already been fixed!) and from time to time we get complaints because the projector is not plugged in, or is plugged into a non-functioning outlet. And once you have changed the lamp, do make sure that the projector works!
