Document Camera software operation

Updated 10/29/2003...DCAjr

1. Unfold camera unit (if necessary)

2. Lift lamp assemblies straight up and adjust angle as appropriate

3. Turn camera unit on (if it isn't on already) by pressing the green button

At this point, the camera image should appear on the monitor and on the video/data projector screen. If the monitor is blank or displays a computer image, press the INT/EXT button on the camera base repeatedly until the legend "INT OUT" appears on the computer screen along with the camera image.

4. Set the lamps as needed

When the camera is first powered up, the upper lamps come on automatically. Press the LAMP button to turn these lamps off and to illuminate the light box so that you can show slides, negatives, or small transparencies. Press LAMP again to turn both sets of lamps off, once again to turn on the upper lamps.

5. Place your document or objects, and adjust the camera

5a. Or, adjust the camera using its mouse...

The document camera has its own mouse (with a Samsung logo on it). Use the right button to bring up the image menus on the screen, the left button to select from the menus. If you freeze the image using the FREEZE button you can then draw on it using the mouse by selecting the DRAW menu.

6. When you are finished...

Please turn the document camera lamps off when you are not using the document camera. Likewise, when you finish with the video/data projector, turn it off as well. For convenience, DO NOT turn off the document camera.
