Camera

The digital camera allows you to take high-quality photos that can be viewed immediately on your PC or television. These photos can also be incorporated into web pages, PowerPoint presentations, and other documents.

GENERAL INFO:

  1. Remember to insert a battery pack into the camera and remove the lens cover.
  2. To turn camera ON -- directly below the screen on the back of the camera is the power on/off button. Slide the button to the right and hold there until the green light comes on signifying that the power is on for the camera.
  3. To the left of the power on/off button, there is another sliding button that can be moved into three positions depending on what you would like to do with the camera. The three options are:
    • PLAY -- allows you to examine the pictures that you have already taken.
    • STILL -- allows you to take still pictures with the camera.
    • MOVIE -- allows you to capture moving images and sound.
  4. To turn camera OFF -- slide the power on/off button to the right until the green light goes out. To prevent wearing down the battery pack during recording, the camera will automatically turn off after about 3 minutes of inoperation.
  5. The floppy disk may be inserted or ejected with the power ON or the power OFF.

TO TAKE PICTURES:

  1. Before taking pictures, insert a 3-1/2" floppy disk into the side of the camera. The top of the disk should face the back of the camera while inserting. If the disk doesn't seem to insert, you've probably got it in the wrong way.
  2. To take a still picture, make sure the sliding button is on STILL. Line up the image that you wish to photograph in the viewing screen on the back of the camera.
  3. On the top of the camera, there is a silver button that is the shutter button. Below the shutter button, there is a silver sliding button that allows you to either zoom in or zoom out on the object that you are photographing.
  4. When the image is set how you want it, press the silver shutter button and hold the camera steady. You will see a flashing green dot appear on the viewing screen. When this is flashing, hold the camera as still as possible so as not to blur the image that you are taking.
  5. In bold red letters, the word RECORDING appears on the viewing screen. As soon as RECORDING dissappears, the image is saved onto the floppy disk in the camera and you are free to take more pictures.

TO VIEW YOUR PICTURES:

  1. Move the sliding button on the back of the camera to PLAY .
  2. If there are any pictures saved onto the disk in the camera, it will automatically display the last picture that you took.
  3. Press the UP-ARROW on the circular directional pad (located in the bottom right hand corner on the back of the camera) to display the menu bar. The current menu bar option will be highlighted in yellow. To change options, press the LEFT/RIGHT-ARROWS on the circular directional pad. To select the current highlighted option, press in the middle of the directional pad. To turn the menu bar off, press the DOWN-ARROW on the directional pad.
  4. To move between the pictures saved on the floppy disk, move the directional circle to the two arrows located above the [INDEX] option on the menu bar and press the LEFT/RIGHT-ARROWS on the directional pad.
  5. To view all of your pictures at once instead of each one individually, highlight the [INDEX] option and press the middle of the directional circle. This displays a layout of all the pictures on the floppy disk.
  6. To display a particular picture from the index, highlight the desired photograph and press the middle of the circular directional pad. This layout also includes any movies that you have taken with the camera. Those movies will have a little film negative in the upper right hand corner.
  7. To delete saved pictures from the index, highlight the [DELETE] option and press the middle of the directional pad. Press the UP-ARROW to hightlight [SELECT] and press the RIGHT-ARROW to display the index of saved pictures. Press the directional pad to highlight a picture and press the middle of the directional pad. A small green trash can displays to indicate that the picture has been marked for deletion. Additional pictures may be selected for deletion in the same fashion. To remove the trash can (unmark picture), highlight the picture and press the middle of the directional pad (trash can should vanish).

TO RECORD MOVING IMAGES & SOUNDS:

  1. Move the sliding button to the MOVIE option on the back of the camera.
  2. When you have the image that you want to record in the viewing screen, hold down the silver shutter button.
  3. There are various options for the movie setting to help you record as easily as possible. If you just press the silver shutter button and let go, the camera will record automatically for 5 seconds. This option can be set to 5, 10, or 15 seconds. Highlight [FILE] on the menu bar, press UP-ARROW and highlight [REC TIME SET]. Press RIGHT-ARROW and highlight 5, 10 or 15 seconds. Press the middle of the directional pad to set your record time.
  4. If you simply hold the silver shutter button down the whole time, you can record for up to 60 seconds.
  5. To view movies, follow the same directions as for viewing still pictures. When scrolling between the images, the movie clips will be smaller than the still picture size. When a movie is selected, a play button appears above the [INDEX] option and the left and right arrow buttons. To view the movie, highlight the play button and press the middle of the directional pad.
