National Accreditation
Accreditation
of a nursing program refers to approval by a national organization,
verifying that the degree-granting program meets educational standards.
At Capital University, both the baccalaureate program in nursing
(prelicensure), the BSN-completion program for RNs, and the Master
of Science in Nursing are fully accredited by the Commission on
Collegiate Nursing Education. In addition, the BSN prelicensure
program holds authorization from the Ohio Board of Nursing. Accreditation
assures that students will receive sound preparation for graduate
school. It also means that courses will transfer to similar institutions
of higher learning. Graduates of accredited programs are sought
out by prospective employers.
Capital
University is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges
and Secondary Schools, the regional accrediting agency for institutions
of higher learning in the Midwest.
