MSN for RNs with a Bachelor's
Degree in Another Discipline
In lieu of the required
bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree, registered nurses (RNs)
who have met all other criteria are admitted to the master of science
in nursing (MSN) program with the following condition.
The following undergraduate
classes must be completed with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 prior
to enrolling in master's-level courses.
- NUR 302: Nursing
Theories/Concepts for RNs (3 hours)
- NUR 303: Transcultural
Nursing (3 hours)
- NUR 402: Health
Assessment for RNs (4 hours)
- NUR 414: Contemporary
Issues for RNs (3 hours)
- NUR 415: Nursing
of Families and Communities for RNs (6 hours)
Or NUR 425: Nursing Management and Practice for RNs (6 hours)
- NUR 409: Nursing
Research (3 hours)
- Statistics: PSYCH
210 or MATH 215 (3 hours)
If the
student has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 in the courses listed
1-5 above, Advanced Statistics (NUR 500) may be taken in place of PSYCH
210 or MATH 215 and Advanced Nursing Research (NUR 520) may be taken
in place of Nursing Research (NUR 409).
